What leading a chapter actually looks like

You’re the host, which means the chapter is yours to shape – the events, the vibe, who you pull in, how often you gather.

We’re not sending you a curriculum or a meeting agenda to follow (this isn’t that kind of thing, and in fact, we legally CAN’T do this!).

What we’d love to see is one in-person event a month and you staying present in your chapter’s community space so it feels alive.

We do recommend being able to dedicate five to ten hours a month to plan a well organized networking event and have time for communication and community check-ins – this way, you’ll have a chapter people look forward to.

Beyond that, we’ll hand you suggestions whenever you want them, but the calls are yours. You know your city and trust you to know what will work best!

You’ll love leading a chapter if:

You genuinely enjoy bringing people together and you follow through when you say you will
You’re organized by nature and good at the logistics most people dread
You lead with collaboration over competition and treat everyone who shows up with real respect
You’re warm, down to earth, easy to talk to, and you keep things fun
You’d be proud to lead something with the Visionaries name on it

This probably isn’t your thing if:

You want to dip a toe in rather than go all in (as this is a 12 month commitment)
You’re hoping we’ll plan everything for you – we literally *can’t* (by law)
You’d see this as free labor instead of a partnership where co-brand elevation is the vibe

Two non-negotiables you’ll need to actually lead a chapter:

You must be an active V-Squad or Visionmind member in good standing (it’s fine if you’re not yet!)
You must not run a competing entrepreneur networking community of your own (leading another chapter for a community is fine, and a niche community is fine – like a group for event vendors – as long as you’ll run dedicated events for your Visionaries chapter)

Local chapter logistics FAQ

What does the application process look like?

After submitting your application, you will be redirected to a separate web page with a Loom video that fully walks you through our licensing agreement. You will also receive a confirmation email that your application has been received; to this email, you will need to reply to state that you have watched the video in full, and you either are comfortable with the terms and would like to be consider, or you are not and would like to cancel your application. Please note that if we suspect your application was written with AI, it will be an automatic decline – we want to know YOUR thoughts, not those of AI.

(Note: we understand it may seem to make more sense to have this video available prior to filling the application out, but we are not comfortable sharing a confidential legal document in full without your having put some skin in the game – thanks for understanding!)

As long as we receive an email from you saying you’ve watched the video and want to move forward, you should expect to hear back from us within about a week to either invite you to an interview, decline the application, or ask any clarifying questions.

Assuming we have an interview, this will be a chance for both of us to decide if this would be a great fit. If not, no worries. But should we mutually agree to move forward (yay!), your license will begin on the date of your choosing!

Is there a cost to lead a chapter?

Yes. Because we are licensing our intellectual property to you, there’s a small license fee. It’s $300 your first year, then $100 in year two and $100 in year three. After that, as long as you’re still active, you’re done – no more license fees, ever (unless the laws around this change to adjust the current safest cap of $500 lifetime on licensing fees). Assuming you charge for events, you will also owe a very small percentage of your ticket sales for revenue share.

How many events do I have to host?

I can’t put a hard number on it (license rules 😅), but here’s my honest hope: at least one a month. Monthly is the sweet spot – often enough that your community stays warm and people build the habit of showing up. If hosting monthly sounds like a drag rather than a joy, this probably isn’t the right fit.

Can two people co-lead a chapter?

Yes, as long as you’re genuinely on the same page about how to run things! Co-presidents just need to apply together from the start. If you want to bring on a co-leader later on, it’ll just

Sure! As long as you get your event info to us in good time, we’ll help you spread the word.

What if there's already a local chapter in my city?

We cannot restrict licenses based on geographical areas, so we’d welcome you to apply – you would just need to choose a different name (eg instead of TVC Los Angeles, you could do TVC LA Mid City).
